The 1985 blockbuster classic Back To The Future was the first of the trilogy. Directed by Robert Zemeckis and distributed by Universal Pictures, the film series follows Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) on his time-travelling adventures with the eccentric Dr. Emmett ‘Doc’ Brown (Christopher Lloyd).
In the first film, we see Marty accidentally travel back in time to 1955, after Doc was shot in the present day. However, the DeLorean (his time machine) is damaged, leaving him stranded in the past. His only hope is to look for the younger Doc Brown so he can repair it and go home.
Following the success of the first film, Back To The Future Part II was released in 1989. Directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Bob Gale, the duo go on another chaotic adventure, travelling to 2015. They need to prevent Marty’s future son from sabotaging the McFly family structure.
Back To The Future Part III was the finale of the trilogy. Directed again by Robert Zemeckis, the two main characters learn about the death of Doc Brown in 1885, so they must travel back in time to save him. However, with no fuel readily available, this leaves them stranded in the Wild West.
