The 90’s was a fantastic decade for films and one of the
best came in the form of this Disney Pixar masterpiece, Toy Story.
It really raised the bar for animated movies and became a
household name overnight. It’s a film that really captures your heart and makes

It follows the fortunes of a group of toys owned by a young
boy named Andy. The toys are all living things but when humans are around they
pretend to be lifeless, which makes for nervy viewing as they avoid detection!

anxious time with Andy set to move house, but in the meantime it’s his birthday
and a new toy joins the group.
Woody (Tom Hanks) re-assures all the toys that they don’t
need to worry about being replaced but in actual fact, it ends up being him who
faces being replaced which he doesn’t take all too well.
The retro, pull-string cowboy ends up feeling really jealous
and threatened by the arrival of Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), a futuristic space
ranger action figure.
Throw the new competition for leading the group and stresses
of moving house together and you get a seriously entertaining watch with lots
of compassion – you can’t help but get involved with all the characters.
Along the way we encounter the demon next door neighbour Sid
who’s the real villain of Toy Story, along with meeting absolutely superb
characters such as Rex, Mr Potato Head, Hamm, Slinky, the Aliens and many more
– it really is great.
The colossal success of this film means it’s still going
strong now over 25 years on, with it a firm favourite of millennial's. So it
comes as little surprise to see the story extended, with four films now made.
It can be easy for the quality to drop when producing so
many films within the same franchise but this just isn’t the case with Toy
Story. All four films are magnificent and as it progresses we get to meet more
fantastic characters like Bullseye, Jessie, Wheezy, Duke Caboom and Forky – we
could list so many.
Toy story 1 right through to 4 has provided us with some
great memories and its legacy reaches out to both children and adults, it’s a
film that everyone can love and really enjoy.
