The Grinch debuted in Dr. Seuss’ 1957 children’s book, ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’. The Grinch is a green, hairy, pot-bellied creature with a mean-spirited and cynical personality. He lives on a cliff in total seclusion and watches over the cheerful people of Whoville with disdain.

In the film ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas’ (2000), Jim Carrey portrays the revenge-seeking Grinch who comes down from his mountain home with his doggy sidekick Max and sneaks into every house in town on Christmas eve to steal everything Christmas-related from theWhos. However, the bitter grump finds himself face to face with the adorable Cindy-Lou Who (Taylor Momsen), who begins to change the mean grinch for the better.
The story was adapted into animation with ‘The Grinch’ in 2018. Benedict Cumberbatch voiced the title character, alongside Cameron Seely as Cindy-Lou Who.
