Tokyo Ghoul is a fantasy manga animated television series that was created by Sui Ishida. The series is based on Shueisha's seinen manga magazine series in the Weekly Young Jump that ran from 2011 to 2014.
The animated manga television series debuted in 2013 and follows the life of a young college student named Ken Kanekiwho is attacked and then inhabited by a ghoul in a near-deadly encounter. Ken went on a date with RizeKamishiro, who turned out to be a ghoul. After recovering from the attack, Ken discovers that he underwent a surgery where some of Rize's organs were transferred into his body, and now, like normal ghouls, he must consume human flesh to survive. He has been transformed into a half-ghoul.
The story follows Ken Kaneki as he struggles to fit into either society. His friends at the "Anteiku" coffee shop take him under their wing and teach him to deal with his new life as a half-ghoul. She lives a double life, trying to keep his identity hidden identity from his friends, especially from his best friend Hideyoshi Nagachika.
